X What is 'Justice' or, more precisely, what makes a person 'Just'?

I've been reading Plato's Republic, and it's one of the first questions in the text which is addressed, from many points of view. I think, in a way I agree with the conclusions, and yet, in a another way, I don't agree at all.

So I challenge you instead, what qualities define a man as 'just'?

  I really don't know. I know I am not Just. I guess I will think someone is Just if their decisions matches with mine. X

X But if you are not just, and you know you are not just, then if someone doesn't agree with you, wouldn't that therefore make them the opposite of you and there for make them just?


Or, if a just man would always agree with you, then wouldn't that in turn mean that you yourself are just?

What I was meaning is that someone whose decisions are same as what I would think to be right.

Like I would feel it is just if a mob beats up a rapist while others may not.		 X

  To be just means to have the most control.

To truly be just one would think free of bias and a perception of self. A perfectly just human could never be born and raised, it would need to be built.

A computer system would be easier. The problem is making the underlying moral calculations.		 X
